Eyebrows speak louder than words...at least we think so! With a little bit of eyebrow shaping and filling them in, your brows have the ability to transform your face.
What you need:
An eyebrow pencil that matches your brow hair colour, preferably with a brush at the end
Clear brow gel aka. clear mascara
A contour pencil to highlight and conceal around your eyebrows
Dry clean concealer brush
Determine Your Brow Shape:
No two brows are the same, they are sisters not twins!
Therefore Betty’s brows won’t look like Suzie’s and Suzie’s right brow won’t look like her left brow. Getting your brows professionally shaped with waxing will give you the best brow shape for YOU.
When filling in your brows, you want to consider the same thing your brow lady does;
The front of your brows aligns with the corner of your nose and front of your eye.
The arch of your brows aligns with the corner of your nose and outside of your iris.
The tail of your brows aligns with the corner of your nose and outside of your eye.
Steps To Fill In Your Brows:
Starting underneath the front of your brow, create a straight line towards your arch with a gentle curve at the arch towards the tail of your eyebrow. You want to use medium to firm pressure to create this line. The line with be blended later on.
Starting ¼ away from the front of your brows at the top, create a straight line towards your arch with a gentle curve at the arch towards the tail of your eyebrow, connecting to the bottom line you created. You want to make sure your top and bottom lines are a flattering width that create the outline of your entire brow.
Now the fun part! Start filling in your brows with light strokes. For the front of your brows create one light straight fluffy line that connects your bottom line to the top of your brows and another line beside it. Once blended, this technique will make the front of your brows a natural light colour that blends in with the rest of your brows.
Blend, blend, blend! Use the dry brush at the end of your pencil to brush your brows upwards. This will lighten your brows and make it less harsh, which is why for steps 1 & 2 it is ok to use a firmer application and make the lines darker as you will be lightening it in step 4.
The next two steps are optional, but we feel they really complete your brow look!
For wiry brow hairs that need a little taming, groom them with a clear gel mascara to hold the brow hairs in place.
Using a contour pencil - which is typically 2 shades of concealer – use the lightest colour to line the underneath part of your brows. This will be a bold line that you blend up toward your bottom brow line and down toward your eyelids. What this step does is it evens out the skin tone around the brows and highlights the area to make your brows pop!
PRO TIP: Our favourite go-to look is a fresh clean face with primer and perfectly filled in brows
with a touch of mascara to the lashes.
Once you get the hang of these steps, it should take about a minute to do.
For those that like a bolder brow, try the same steps using a brow pomade!
