The One Minute Night Time Skincare Routine

Who is guilty of not washing their face at night? Don't worry, we are too. Let's face it, at the end of a long day we are lucky we can even shower or brush our teeth. So never mind a confusing skincare routine to remove the days dirt and make-up.

Here is my guide on the Perfect Night Time Skincare Routine, that can be done in under one minute.

Whether you wear a full face of make up during the day or not, your skin still takes a beating. Pollution, Stress induced oil production, Damaging UV rays and more. Which is why it is important to wash away the days dirt.

STEP 1:

Cleanse & Remove Make- Up [30 seconds]

Do this as soon as you come home from work and are in for the night. The key to not being so tired that you don't want to wash your face, is to do it right when you come home. I love to use Dermalogica Pre Cleanse Wipes with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. If you do not have a make up remover, we suggest cleansing your skin twice with your facial cleanser prescribed to you by your Skin Therapist. We advise to do this because one wash will not remove all your make up and clean the skin. This step will take no more than 30 seconds!

STEP 2:

Treat Your Skin [15 seconds]

Your skin renews itself a little faster at night time. Studies have shown that the cell regeneration almost doubles at night time between 11pm & 4am. This is why your Skin Therapist suggests to treat your skin for your specific condition at night time. Your treatment will depend on your skincare concerns. Because my concerns are ageing, pigmentation, skin texture and hydration; I treat my skin with Yonka Alpha Complex. This gel is packed with Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA's) that eliminates dead skin cells. While eliminating dead skin cells, it lightens pigmentation, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and hydrates with Hyaluronic Acid. It is a beautiful 3 in 1 treatment consisting of exfoliation, anti ageing and hydration properties. This treatment is recommended to use for 30 days straight every 3 months.

 

STEP 3:

Serum [15 seconds]

Serums are full of concentrated ingredients like vitamins and rich oils that can boost your skin in one nights sleep. For my customised night time routine, I choose to use the Yonka Serum. This serum is an energising concentrate that nourishes damaged skin. Vitamin E helps to fight free radicals and slow the ageing process and Vitamin F (aka. Linoleic Acid) regenerates the skin.
